Hi Hal,

Microsoft has what is called "Windows Media Encoder". Free download if I remember. Just click on their "Downloads and Free Trials" link on their main page then look for "Windows Media" link. I've used it for years and Mike is right, the file size is much smaller than say and mpeg file type and quality is good. The only problem was that You Tube didn't recognize the file type (meaning they can't covert it I guess). Windows Media Encoder I believe is at version 9. The reason I originally used it is because there was a time when I had to video repair and maintenance of equipment and fit it on a CD (pre DVD era). Windows Media Encoder worked great because of the amount of video I could get on a single CD.

Take care,
Bart

Hi Mike,

Went looking for Windoze media encoder and couldn't find it. Could you be a
bit more specific about where I can find it. Thanks.

Hal in Tucson
