Very interesting article indeed! Perhaps the air core resonance transformer was invented even before Tesla invented and patented it!

I know some French experimenters had recorded in their journals the idea and practice of connecting charged Leyden jars in series long before Marx in 1923.
Gaston Planté, the inventor of the lead-acid battery, experimented with a high-voltage generator that he named "rheostatic machine", where a capacitor array was charged in parallel and discharged in series, with the connections made by a rotating cylinder with
contacts properly arranged.
