Re: do it yourself caps --- an ozone health risk!

Actually, $100 or $150 should never be a problem.

I recently mentored an 11 yr. old neighbor kid who always complained he didn't have any money. I helped him purchase a $15 buffer at Walmart and started him on a career waxing the neighbor's cars every 6 months. He pockets $15 per vehicle every 6 months, washes and waxes a few dozen vehicles for $15 which is a great bargain, which has enabled him to purchase the electronic parts and gizmos he was craving. I helped him with my computer to print up some flyers which he walked around the neighborhood and delivered. He paid me back the $15 within 2 weeks and was making some good money for an 11 yr. old.

My point here is --- if the will is strong enough there is always a way. Kids without funds need to roll up their sleeves and find a way to do it. Car waxing, raking leaves, odd jobs for neighbors --- whatever it takes.

As I've often told my young friend Nick, "can't is not a valid word in the vocabulary of an entrepreneur" I've also preached to him, "Can't never did anything --- never has and never will". He is slowly beginning to see the light.

Tesla worked 18 hrs. per day and usually 7 days per week. No excuses in his mind.

Hi Doc,

There are those for whom one or two hundred dollars or so, is a trivial expense, and then there are those who have to budget carefully for the case of beer to make their caps. As long as there are coilers in both these economic groups, and those in between, there WILL be bottle caps. Then there are those who, even today, wind their own motors, build crystal sets and vacuum-tube radios, and make bottle-based capacitors, wind TCs with DCC wire, restore Model-Ts, build harpsichords, etc., because for them, making stuff that works out of simple items is what's fun (people like my grand-kids).
