Hi, good to see you got it working. a lot of centrifuge motors are series
type ac-dc motors, or so called universal motor.
what they did in the centrifuge to get the speed up there was a couple
things. made the shaft very strong, packed the windings and wound kevlar
fibre over the wires to keep them from being torn off. they turn the field
voltage down. this will cause the motor to speed up considerably but you
must carefully controll the armature current, which wants to increase
quickly...
otherwise its basically a 24,000 rpm universal series motor.
i have several here i want to use for wood routing spindle.
