None of our TC calculators take proper account of flat
conductors at the moment.  I think it would be possible to
alter JavaTC to model such primary coils by the above method,

In the Inca program I have implemented the calculation for a single turn primary decomposed in several parallel rings. I didn´t extend the idea to coils with more turns, but it is surely possible. Something to try also would be to compute the inductance of a ring of flat ribbon using the gmd idea, but changing the gmd of a round conductor to the gmd of a flat ribbon. Mutual inductances between different turns would be calculated as if they were simple filaments. I will try some calculations.
