[TCML] RE: Variac Question - 120/140V switch



I see no switch in the referenced photo, but if I was to venture a guess, I'd think that the Variac offers two different modes of operation, giving either 0-120 or 0-140VAC output ranges, with a 120V input.  Most folks happily use the 140V mode, as the additional 20V gives coils a significant boost in performance.
