RE: [TCML] Jacob's Ladder



but why put them in series? i wouldn't want >0.9 amps of current from a 2KW MOT running through my NST that would definitely fry the secondary, or would it? 
is my idea of having 1 NST and 1 MOT in parallel workable? the NST to provide ionization @ 15KV and the MOT to provide current through the resulting arc for a hotter, more powerful arc. i am trying to increase the current of the arcing system using the MOT, not using it for ballasting or further increasing the voltage to 17KV.
what i am worried about is if the NST would get fried even in the parallel configuration. there aren't any NST shops in my area, so mine was a rare find from a junkyard which i don't hope to fry.
