Yea, that makes more sense now. ;^) However,
you can double or even triple the arc stretch of
a JL by placing a ~0.4 uFd-ish high voltage
capacitor (assuming 60 hz and 14.4 kV trans-
former output voltage) in series with your pole pig's
output to the JL rails. Makes for what we of the
Southeastern High Voltage Enthusiasts (SHVE)
group coined as "Arczilla".

The capacitor in series with the output of your
high voltage transformer will really put some "lead
in your pencil" for your Jacob's Ladder! :^)

12" plus arcs wouldn't seem to be very impressive output for a system
pulling 60-70 Amps input power .......

Did you mean 12' arcs?
