[TCML] grounding rod

Go to Lowes or Home depot, buy 8' rod,$17 or $27 for copper clad steel rod.  Start by pushing it into the ground as far as possible, pull out and add water, push further, pull and add water push down as far as you can.  Tape a wood slat to it for stability , if you don't have a fancy long handled chisel holder,  and have a freind/spouse hold it while you drive it the rest of the way in.  Unless the ground is frozen or rock.  Tree roots are mostly on the surface and the first push down will identify.  I live in the midwest, southern illinois, and during a thaw last week the ground was very soft, but the water process is used by the laborers in dry ground.                                   Bob
