RE: [TCML] how to "cite" a TCML posting

It seems a bit OT, but as it has been allowed, I normally try to give the date of the post as well just in case the archive moves,

Something like:-

"Jim Lux in a TCML posting from May 2011 mentions................" The word 'posting' linking to the relevant URL in the format you describe.

Phil

Subject: [TCML] how to "cite" a TCML posting

So, getting around to updating my hv website.. I'd like to point to discussions and posts on the TCML (since that's where the information comes from). What's a good way to do that that is likely to "persist" into the future?

Is the "http://www.pupman.com/listarchives/year/month/msgXXXXX.html"; form probably the best?

Maybe with a footnote giving the poster's name and the subject (so you could search for it later?)
