Re: [TCML] just a thought



A long time ago, I used a cd blank (the one blank one you get in each box) as a spark gap, for a very low power coil. 
I took copper wire and bent it around the edge.  And secured it with tape. Then the stationary electrodes were just some fine stranded wire which actually brushed up against the disk. Making contact with the wire on the disk. 

This evolved as I was playing with one of those stupid solid state nst's. 
Had window glass and al foil capacitors. 

It was my first attempt at a coil. I had no clue what I was doing  But I was able to get like a 1.5-2 inch arc out of it I think.  
Probably all due to the effect of pulsed induction, I'm sure resonance had nothing to do with it. Lol

Well, obtaining the proven heat-resistant raw material will always be
the ideal, however, I'm working with little to no budget.  So it will
for now, what's laying around, and raiding of the junk box.
