The Terry filter gap should only fire when there is a problem. It is a protection device. If it is firing then your main gap is set too wide, or it is set too narrow, or there is another major problem.

I'm having a problem with my terry filter and spark gap....... they should both 
fire right? well my terry filter will fire and the spark gap wont, then vice 
versa. I only leave on for around 20 seconds, should I leave it longer?
Whats your suggestion?
