I've been playing with a small  cone coil and tried these caps in place my  old TCBOR oil caps, that are Very bulky.
 
  The coil is 6.5" at base , 1.75" at top with winding length of 13.5" of  #22 wire , 3" sphere on top .
 
    Primary is 1" copper strap.  With  7500/60 , .008mfd cap and static gap getting  7" - 8"  max.
 
      I may be a little under coupled ? as first turn of banded primary is 2"  from  first sec. turn .
 
        I was going for the 'antique'  coil look , but with a little work may do better ?
