Hello all,
I just listed a small Tesla Coil on Ebay.

Some high resolution pics are here...

It's much more interesting to operate a Pancake Coil at these low power levels, the effluves are much more abundant
and extend 12" or more...but for a small cylindrical coil it is still useful for Geissler tubes and such...4" sparks and 6" effluve
(particularly along the last wire of the secondary, in operation it forms a horizontal sheet of violet light).
Specs are:
3500V 8mA NST open core & coil type, unmodified.
(12) 690 PF doorknob caps = .00828 mfd
(Can anyone guess what the connection plates are? :) )
An antique Fischer spark gap, tungsten contacts .1875"
1" copper ribbon primary with .1875" EPDM rubber interleaves
3 5/8" diameter phenolic form close wound with 6.6875" of 29 AWG
4" copper ball terminal
1/2" XX Phenolic/Bakelite plates
Throw a bid, you could always scrap it for the caps and spark gap ;)
Jeff
