I have a couple of smaller instrument transformers, and they are beasts. I doubt those are current limited. They probably are grossly underrated for continuous duty @ 750va. They can likely be pushed much, much further for short periods of time.

An NST rated at the same power is half the weight and a third the cost.
What's the benefit that's worth that much difference?
