Hi Dan,

Looks to me like you are doing a damn fine job so far!  I don't think
there's any need to worry about excessive metal bits causing eddy currents
and losses.  Screws will have no impact, unless they bridge an open circuit.

My coil uses a 15/60 NST.  For the tank circuit I think I used #6 and #8AWG
stranded wire, just because it was available and I had access to ring
terminals and crimping tools.  It came out looking nice and beefy and
professional, but the truth of the matter is, I seriously doubt that the
performance would be measurably different had I used just a short/direct
length of #14.

Insulation on the inter-component wiring mostly isn't important.  I just
make sure that the layout is such that the wiring doesn't come close to
anything it might arc to.  I did use NST GTO cable from the NST to the
Terry filter as it did come close to the NST case.  But from the Terry
filter to the tank circuit, I just used common #18 stranded PVC wire
terminated with Faston connectors.
