The current is so small you can get away with almost anything. 14 AWG is overkill but it will work. I use 22 AWG HV test wire on my 6.5 KVA pole-pig powered SGTC but you can use even low voltage wire if you place it inside of vinyl tubing to provide insulation.

Any wisdom on what gauge high voltage  wire would work at 30 foot lengths from a 12 KV 150 mA NST power pack?

I’m thinking of 14Ga.  30kV
