Had a 4" coil powered with a 10/60 orbit that would toss 3-4 foot streamers at ya. That to me seems a little low volt, 10,000 seems to be minimal, you might want to use some sort of voltage doubler circuit with it. If were to go about removing shunts I'd stick with MOT's and build a six pack under oil and on steroids.... (BIG GRIN) Cheers Binny........

Just a few random questions I've been sitting on for awhile now. I've done
a little bit of google-fu but I still do enjoy just asking the list
sometimes. You can get the help you're searching for and help you weren't.

Soooo... Not as much information on OBITs as there is NSTs. I just aquired
a 6kV 20mA Ignition Transformer. I am going to de-shunt it for a supposed
80mA. Compared to their heftier cousin, the NST, how is the general
durability? Will it survive a resonant charging circuit? How about an
ARSGTC? Both?
