Big plasma ball

Paul,

Generally, the spark length in a gas like argon will be ten times longer
than in the open air. I use per argon for my globe which results in the
inteior surface of the glass being heavily covered with bright white
`spider webs', rather than streamers eminating from the center electrode.
Another interesting thing, multiple white arcs travel the full six foot
length of the clear plastic tube that connects the gas cylinder to the
globe. Imagine what you could do with a long length of clear, flexible
plastic tube, say 1" in diameter.
