I used a two part epoxy coating as well.
During the mixing stage I got impatient and decided to use a paddle bit in
my cordless drill to mix the stuff.
That was very fast but it also whipped in millions of air bubbles.  Also, in
my haste, I poured the whipped mixture on my form and hoped that the bubbles
would come out.  They didn't.
However ugly this may look I can report that the 6" x 24" form still works
just fine on my 15/120 NST setup.
Next time a little more patience on my part will be in order.
I think that your secondary will perform just fine.
