I use a similar method.  A dual 30A breaker at the transformer, with a rope
tied to the levers, and the other end of the rope tied to the plug at the
220V outlet.  Every time I attempt to adjust something, I pull the breaker.
 The rope at the plug is just incase I somehow fuse the breakers and can't
turn them off.

I also run the rope to the door of the house, and have instructed my wife to
pull the rope if she hears me screaming, or lying on the ground not moving.

Can't be too safe.
