Hi Steve,
             did you mean several hundred KVA ?  You probably only want 
1-2kVA for the coil you've wound at most, and that would really depend on how 
well you've built the secondary.  FETs can just go straight in parallel, no 
complications.  However if you're running at high frequencies you may want to 
give them each their own driver chip.
Apart from the usual big heatsink and snubber and damping networks no extra 
precautions are necessary.

He has built some fair sized coils and I'm sure if you have any queries he'll 
be very helpfull.  He is working on a new driver that wasn't on his site last 
time I looked so you may want to ask him about that as from what i saw it was 
quite a nice piece of engineering.
