Hi Cory,

Many years ago I tried this with some plastics.  The arc cuts the vanes off
like butter.  You are dealing with an arc about as hot as an arc welder.  I
never tried ceramics like AlO2 but I am pretty sure it would be the minimum
needed to withstand the very hot arc.
