The 8438 is very similar to the 4-400A, QB4, 1100A, and the RS-1002A. See

I have in my tesla coil parts stash a transmitting tube marked "8438" made
by RCA. It seems to be of fairly recent vintage judging by the logo.
Anyone know what this is ? got specs?
