Subject: doublers for 500kV

Since most Xray transformers have a grounded centertap (like a neon 
transformer), your HV output is going to be floating.  In that case, rather 
than the half wave doubler that Bert suggested, maybe a full wave doubler 
might be more appropriate.  Same number of diodes and capacitors, but the 
caps are in series on the output.
