Hello Colin

Can you please give us an idea of what this transformer looks like.
Nothing precise, but what are:

Dimensions of the core,

Width and diameter of the HV coils, and

Weight.

How did you come across such a device and why do you need 500kv.

I have on hand an old 250 KV  60 Hz  X-ray transformer. It was
manufactured 
with three windings connected in series and it  was designed to be run
in 
dielectric oil.
