Thanks for all the replies.

After I sent that last message, I did indeed think of the same thing. I have
been constructing a HV relay from a solenoid that I had laying around. The
idea is to cut both the + and - from the voltage doubler. I figure this will
protect the power supply and help prevent hash from traveling straight from
the Marx an into the mains. The relay is also going to trigger the bank, so
I should be able to set the spark gaps all to just over charging voltage,
making it easy to adjust and low jitter.

I hope to be doing a low power test on it today.  So far it looks nice,
let's hope it works well too.

Many thanks for all the help, gentlemen. I'm getting close to a test, I
should finish the relay today, I have 5 stages with spark gaps built and all
I need to do is lash together the doubler for a test. I haven't played with
any HV in a while, can't wait to see the sparks!
