corona rectification paper

Hi all,

I sent a note to Richard Hull about this paper, but thought others
would be interested too. It may have some bearing on the rectification
effects you all see, though there are certain differences:

" A cold cathode rectifier" by Willard H Bennett - Journal of Applied
Physics, Volume 18, May 1947, page 479.

I think I orignally found the reference for this paper in Craggs' and Meek's
High Voltage Laboratory Technique.

Abstract: A cold cathode rectifier is described in which corona discharge
is used at atmospheric and higher pressures in hydrogen and nitrogen free
of electron-attaching impurities....
