Hi Bob,
I used a regular (modern) ignition coil in my first Tesla
unit.  Wish I had a model "T" coil to instead.  You have
a lot more power available and the ability to adjust the
"buzzer" is a plus too.  Good luck.  I used a couple of 
turns of old 12ga house wire primary and a paper towel
roll secondary for my first attempt.  A wine bottle sounds
kind of neat though.  You could have fun trying to find the
best shape bottle for maximum spark.
