Today I went to the Heating and Air Conditioning contractor suppy store
and bought 4 galvinazed elbows. The elbows are
10" diameter and when 4 are assembled into a toriod shape it measures
27" across. I put some duct tape on them to hold
them together. I had to tap my primary at turn 15.75 and I now get 51"
sparks. The 4.5" x 16" aluminum foil toriod had so
many sharp edges that it radiated sparks from the entire toriod and the
maximum spark length I could get was 37". The 10"
elbows have 12 sparks coming from them. Each elbow has 3 swivel joints
and the sparks are coming from the swivel joints.
The larger surface radius of 5" on the 10" elbows is much better than
the 2.25 radius of the aluminum foil toriod.

I was surprised that the price of these elbows are only $2.31" each. I
called 3 hardware stores and 3 other places and the
price of 8" elbows are about $10.00 each. The place that I bought these
elbows is a contractor supply store not a heat and air
store that installs or repairs air conditions. The contractor supply
store sell supplies to the heat and air stores and contractors.
Here are some prices.

8" elbows $1.32 each. Toroid diameter is 21".

9" elbows $1.81 each. Toriod diameter is 24".

10" elbows $2.31 each. Toriod diameter is 27".

12" elbows $3.07 each. Toriod diameter is 30".

14" elbows $4.20 each. Toroid diameter is 33".

16" elbows $8.34 each. Toriod diameter is 37".

18" elbows $10.15 each. Toriid diameter is 41".

20" elbows $12.35 each. Toroid diameter is 54".

22" elbows $21.13 each. Toroid diameter is 57".

24" elbows $29.59 each. Toroid diameter is 60".
