Acceptance & Question

Hey all..the concept of using my soon to be finished coil at the Ft Worth
Hangman's House of Horrors was accepted last night at the official first
planning session.

In fact, one old-timer made a suggestion. The entrance area is a two story
area. He suggests building the room and thoroughly shielding it. But build it
on the second story with the usual supports beneath.

This will be operating sporadically while patrons are lining up to enter. What
great anticipation and they can't get near it as it is above them.

Finally, the must walk beneath the room to enter. Think of it as an elevator
cage on the 2nd floor and you walk beneath.

Cool or what?

Now the question...
I have been reading with great interest the discussion of a linear (Scott)
gap and the U channel (Jochen) modification.
I have just discovered that JB Weld can withstand 500 degree environment. I
plan to use it to modify further the Jochen arrangement.

By placing the U channel holding the copper sweat coupling tubes on (across)
schedule 40 PVC pipe (like railroad ties), I think I can use the PVC to
direct air to the gaps with a hose fitting to my blower by drilling
holes/slots along each PVC tube from beneath each copper tube.

The question I have is...

Assuming 1.5" diameter copper tubes about 2 " long, should the air be
directed in the middle, at each end, or as much along the entire length of
the 2" long sweat coupling?

Everything...thanks to all the members...is starting to come together!
