hi brad, you might want to try denatured alcohol as the solvent. it has good cuting propertys and the fumes are not as explosive. also i would guess that you wouldn't want the film from the additives on the windings. these are added to gasoline for octain boost and other petrochemical dutys. also even though we all do it, you really shouldn't expose your skin to gasoline for to long. the nerve damage it may cause is not worth it. mem
