Stan,
     that is exactly what I do. Great for making adjustments. Take a piece of
the same material as the coil form, about 1 diameter long, and cut a slit
down the side to make it smaller diameter to fit inside the secondary. Mount
this small tube permanently on the stand. The secondary slides down over this.
If you use baffles, the lowest one must be raised accordingly, no big deal.
