- There are high voltage rectifiers available which use silicon chips 
with avalanche characteristics. Thus they need no shunt resistors 
or capacitors to give equal voltage sharing. Nevertheless the supply 
impedance must be high enough to avoid excessive reverse 
currents when overvoltages occur. I've used such a rectifier with 2 
MOTs charging a HV cap for exploding wire experiments 
sucessfully.
