Re: teslameter? what is it?

Jon:
Teslameters are the same as Gaussmeters - they offer
accurate, high resolution measurement of magnetic flux
densities. This version appears to be an "NMR" meter which
is a reference grade unit. I could not find any data on the
web about this model.

I couldn't tell what the max range is, but the meter I'm
familiar with goes up to 3.0 Teslas or about 30,000Gauss
with an upper frequency limit of 3KHz. Some models can
measure up to 50Teslas and 300MHz (very $$$).

It depends on the model specs to see if it might be useful
for HV Tesla work in general (low frequency is not useful), but
the ability of instrument to survive a high voltage environment
is questionable (most of these units are made to measure in a
non-ionizing field).

It would be cool to directly map the field around the secondary
though.
