Hi Patrick,
The coil you refer to is a 1/2 wave bipolar coil. The coil is fed at the 
center so the
the center point of the secondary is the point of zero voltage. The high 
voltage is off the ends.I have just spent
considerable time playing with bipolars and I am working now on a twin 
bipolar.
I am getting ready to post some pictures and the the data of my bipolar coils.
If you are in a big hurry, I'll be glad to send you a few pictures as 
attachments.
