A kicking coil by definition must have an interruptor as part of it.  That
is, something like an induction coil or model T Ford coil has.  One could
take apart a MOT and rig up a vibrating armature and a pair of contacts and
it would probably work OK.  Or, I suppose one could rig up a separate
relay-interruptor to drive the MOT secondary.
