Hi Dan,
This doesn't seem to make sense: If C1=C2 then Ctot= 50%(2*C1)=C1 implies 
zero gain from adding the second toroid. I think that Ctot= 
(C1+C2)/2  +50%(C1+C2)/2 i.e. the average value plus 50% would seem closer 
to my experience.
