For a small coil you can use the coax for a primary.  There will
be some losses but not too bad.  I used to use it at one time.
You can remove some jacket at some spots here and there
in areas where you think you need to tap.  THen you can
attach an alligator clip or other clip around the wire at the
bare spot.  You may lose 5% spark length (maybe) using coax
depending on the coil's exact design, etc.

You're probably better off just stripping the insulation off some AWG14 or AWG12 solid "house wire" if you need a real low buck primary.
