Hey Garry...a simple method if you have a Variac and an amp meter is to start at 0V and record in 5 or 10 volt steps the amperage drawn on the inductor/system. Use the inductor equation ( dont remember it but someone here probably does) to graph out the resistance created at the volt levels. The graph should be "somewhat" linear untill saturation of the core occurs...
