Hi DC and all,
Could you explain a "hash" filter for the primary side? Thanks!

Neal.

An easy solution is to use a surge protector with multiple outlets and an
on/off switch. Just hit the switch when you want to run your coil and that
will kill everything thus protecting it.

On the primary side of your nst use, in order, a hash filter, varisters,
Corcom RF filter. This will stop most of the power line garbage spikes.

I recently had my daughter and a friend move back into the house, and her

in the basement, extremely close to my workshop. Is there any reasonable
protection that I could/should use to protect his electrical items, such as
computer, flat screen tv, etc? I'm thinking surge protector strip for his
stuff
(I also run my coil power supplies through a surge protector fwiw), but
beyond
unplugging everything, is there more I can do? Thanks everyone for your
suggestions,
