Re: [TCML] SSTC State of the Art?

Im very interested in this and how to. Do you have more info on how to build this setup.

Hi Folks,

I'm designing and building a music-modulated SSTC for my final project in my
EE degree. I've been a member of the Tesla List for about six years, but
I've only ever built rudimentary spark gap TCs, and only as recently as
2006, so I was wondering if anyone would care to discuss the current state
of the art in SSTC design?

You could also keep your spark gap coil, and use a triggered spark gap to control the bang rate.. Basically, the trigger would be an auto electronic ignition, driving an auto spark coil. The auto ignitions are controlled by magnetic pickups or mechanical contacts, either of which is easy to simulate with electronics that lend themselves to a short length of plastic optical fiber for isolation.

Then, make a MIDI to pulse rate widget in your microcontroller...
