It won't make any difference, but go for the 12" tube, it will save you
some wire.

3:1 ratio is strictly Richard Quick, and it is an based on an outdated
point of view. And 60mA NST's.
One of the few good things DC Cox did here, was to advocate above 5:1
ratio. This ratio gets the topload suitably far up off the primary, so
that, provided that it (the topload) is sufficiently large in diametre,
will throw sparks to the ground instead of directly onto the primary, or
strikerail
But since you are going to pour the power from a pig into it, what you
_really_ might want to get is a tube longer than 60".....
