Sad to here of the fire and damage :(
An idea is to get those fire alarms that have alarm level relay
contacts. When the smoke detector goes off, the contacts close and a
big contactor for the building's power drops the whole electricity show
out. That probably would have easily saved the farm in this case. The
system cost is fairly tiny.
Try not to use Lexan for anything. It burns like napalm. I know
everyone loves it, but in a fire you might as well use diesel fuel...
