Knee Jerk Reaction

Having read several postings regarding people getting personal with a few
million volts, it appears that most occasions occur because the coiler or
observer takes an action without thinking...or what I call a knee jerk
reaction.

A friend of mine was driving home. He paid a toll and placed the change on
the dash. Then while making a turn, the change started to slide and fall. He
instinctively and without thinking reached for the change to catch it and
promptly had a collision.

It's this sort of "non-thinking" that, IMHO, gets anyone experimenting with
electricity, into trouble. Think of your garage as a lab and follow good lab
procedures (which do not include waving fluorescents at the toroid like a
red cape at a bull) and you can live a long life.

Peace
