D&M's toroids are made using Al duct for a form and covering it with
fiberglass. Once they harden, they are sanded smooth. They are then wrapped
with the Al tape. I am not sure how he wraps his because they have an
extremely smooth surface, unlike my wrapped toroids! I had a chance to see a
couple of them at the Florida Teslathon he hosted. Dave puts allot of time
into making them and does an excellent job on them. They are very sturdy and
won't easily dent. As you can see in the picture, they do have an excellent
look. I would recommend one if you cannot afford or don't want to pay for a
spun toroid. Hope this helps.
