Bill,
Async rotaries have extremely sporatic firing rates. This means the caps can
be charged to any voltage for any length of time. Not only that, but most
often, the firing rates of async gaps are >200bps, which cuts life in half
roughly. It also raises the working temperature... I believe this is
classified as a BadThing (tm).
