Jim, all,

To be honest, I have to agree with Jim on this one. Let's face it, this
machine would be positively LETHAL in the wrong hands. IMHO a
Tesla system of this magnitude is really too dangerous for the average
John Q. Citizen who has not progressed thru the typical learning
curve that most of us go thru to achieve construction of a large coil system.
I'm certainly not saying that one needs to be an EE to build or handle
a big coil system, but one certainly needs to be well experienced
with the aspect of safely handling potentially lethal HV circuitry. As
others have already stated, most of us go thru the learning curve of
building a small NST or OBIT Tesla coil before we jump into a pole
pig system. Let's face it, if you've never messed with HV before,
you're almost certain to make a few mistakes along the way. And
as I've said before, a "mistake" with 10 kV -at- 23 mA will be quite
painful, but the same mistake at 14.4 kV -at- ~ 700 mA will most like-
ly be LETHAL. I myself have made a few mistakes back in my
"10/23" days and learned to be more careful before I got into the
pole pig era. I'm sure that there are even some EE types that
are totally inexperienced in dealing with the HV high energy cir-
cuitry of a large Tesla system up close amd personal and there
are some plain HS grads that are quite experienced and self taught
to the point that they are quite capable of SAFELY handling a
large Tesla system.

Hopefully, anyone who knows what this system is will be smart
enough to realize the dangers involved with the operation of such
a system.
