Tom,
One thought is to check your alignment standard, and make sure it is 
correctly reporting an error.
Bosch is a relatively reputable name in the equipment business. but, it 
is still possible that you got a lemon, though.  If you can't get it to 
align, I'd take it back to the store and exchange it for a different 
example.
