Look in the hvList archives for a post by a member named Michaels on this
very topic.  If memory serves me correctly, he suggested taking the SS salad
bowls to a machine shop and have both rims cut off and a lip rolled on one
rim so it is just smaller than the other rim.  The two will easily fit
together and can be glued or just wedged together firmly.

Most machine shops can do this in about five minutes and very cheaply.  The
proper equipment is important.
